WiDS Lagos DataDiva Datathon 2024

DataDiva is an independent program/workshop organized by Tech4her Africa [tech4her.org] to support the annual Women in Data Science (WiDS) Datathon [widsworldwide.org] held at Stanford University, a global predictive analytics challenge hosted on the Kaggle platform.

The WiDS Datathon is a social impact challenge aiming to inspire women worldwide to learn more about data science, and to create a supportive environment for women to connect with others in their community who share their interests. Data scientists of all levels are invited to participate in the datathon, including beginners.

Hands-on Data Science Workshop!

Develop your data skills and collaborate on real-world challenges.

In this 4-day workshop, you’ll:
– Learn Python, Pandas, Matplotlib core tools for coding and data analysis
Introduction to sql & databases
– Apply machine learning techniques like regression and random forests
– Create compelling data visualizations to tell stories
– Learn how to create experiments & data apps dashboards with plotly, powerbi, jupyter notebook, streamlit.
– Work in teams to take on a full datathon project

Participate In The WiDS Datathon 2024- Equity in HealthCare!

Gilead Sciences is the sponsor of this year’s datathon.
They provided a rich, real-world oncology dataset with information about demographics, diagnosis and treatment options, and insurance provided about women patients who were diagnosed with breast cancer.
Participants will analyze the dataset to identify possible inequities in patient care, such as treatment duration.

We envision a future in which women are fully integrated and represented in all areas of Data science, including AI, and and share equally in Decision Making, Economic Prosperity and Opportunities.
